Throwback: Why You Must Not Always Give a Damn

This is also a throwback article first written on July 22, 2016. The essence of the message behind it is to pass on the message that sometimes we need to care less about certain things. I am reminded of this article because of the new book I am reading titled "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" by Richard Carlson. And I will write a review once I finish it, but for now, I hope you enjoy the article:

Look here my friend, I want you to know and remember this; there will always be those who care about your existence and those who don't, those who will love you and the ones who will hate you.

There will always be those who value and appreciate what you do and those who do not,

those who will believe in you and those who won't, those who are ready to encourage you and those who will try to bring you down.

It's not your fault that there will always be those who will be against you, misunderstand you and see only negativity in you. It's just how the world is. So, you should not waste time trying to please everybody.

The best thing which you can do when you understand this reality of life is to focus and continue to bring out the best in you. Keep creating value for those few who care about you, those who believe in you and those who encourage you.

You must continue to develop yourself and produce the best things for them. You should never waste your time trying to convince the ones who don't support you or believe in you. It's totally pointless and to me, it's a bloody waste of precious time.

Allow these nay sayers say what they want to say, just develop yourself, focus and keep creating value to make this world better than you found it. With time, they will find reasons to believe in you, but until then, don't allow whatever these ones say or do affect your progress.

To put it out bluntly: "Don't give a damn about what they think about you my dear."

It's all about you and what you choose to offer to this world, not them.

Anytime you pause to give the slightest sh*t about these negative people, argue with them or try to prove to them that you're actually not what they may think, you end up wasting time and looking stupid. It's like pouring water on a stone expecting it to pass through. These people's minds are damn made up.

Just totally forget about them. Ignoring them totally is best here. Because giving any care to their thoughts will not do good to your dreams and aspirations.

Gold does not have to prove itself to anyone. Those who recognise gold will always seek it, while those who don't know what it is will pass it by. But the gold always remains gold and need not try hard to prove itself to anyone.

Nay-sayers will always want to bring you down, make you look inferior, useless, weak and less attractive than you really are. It's not their fault. These people have tried many things and they've failed. Therefore, they're afraid of your success. They're afraid that you'll make it where they have failed. So they knowingly or unknowingly try to stop you naturally, so you will join them become a loser.

You know better my dear. You're a winner,  a bold one at that! You're not affected by these ones because you'll definitely go farther than they've ever gone. So just ignore them, focus on building yourself and creating your brand. The sky won't even be a limit to what you'll achieve.

Till next time,

Don't give a damn and keep winning..

Nigel.
